YOUbuntu Founder Awarded UnLtd Funding I have some exciting news... I've been awarded funding from UnLtd! (get the party poppers out!) What makes this even more special is that UnLtd don't just fund businesses... they fund people. They invest in individuals they believe can create positive social change. That means this award isn't just recognition of YOUbuntu – it's belief in me, my lived experience, and the work I've dedicated myself to over many years. As a mixed-race woman, growing up with racism throughout my childhood, I know first-hand what it feels like to not feel seen, heard or represented. Those experiences shaped me, but they also fuelled a passion to make things better for the next generation. For over 25 years I've worked with young people through education and community projects, creating spaces where culture, confidence and belonging can flourish. Today, through YOUbuntu, I continue that mission by helping schools have honest conversations about race, identity and inclusion, while giving young people the confidence to be proud of who they are. Apparently... talking about awkward conversations for a living really is a legitimate career. Who knew? A huge thank you to UnLtd for believing in me and the vision behind YOUbuntu. This funding will help me strengthen the foundations of the organisation, reach more schools, support more young people, and continue building a future where every child feels they belong.
